*slowly climbs out from her cocoon and blinks as she looks around…is anyone still here?*
Honestly though, hi and I’m sorry. Back in January when I had the grand idea to start Moon Cocoon, little did I know I was creating my own little Moon Cocoon with an actual baby inside. Now that I think about it, the name did come to me quite easily, and this image of a cocoon, a womb, a cosy space. Sigh, and here we are…months later, and you’re probably like, this isn’t what I signed up for, Siobhan…where have my cosmic updates been?!
Well, they are back…for now. At least until my Moon baby leaves the Moon Cocoon in September, and then who knows what life will look like.
How are you, though? It’s been so long. We’ve made it through the first Eclipse season rollercoaster of the year, hopefully with everything still intact? And Mercury Retrograde is over for now, well, the shadow phase will linger until May 31st, but hopefully things are less hazy now.
And hello to Gemini season! Yesterday the Sun flew into Gemini and was it just me, or did the pace totally pick up? Whooooosh, this can be a busy season. I hate the word busy and with my Sun in Cancer, Moon in Taurus and a Capricorn Ascendant, I’m all Water and Earth, and boy oh boy do the air and fire seasons keep me on my toes.
I don’t want to be busy though. It’s not something I thrive on. And no, I don’t mean I want to be all lazy and go at a snail’s pace, but I do prefer to be able to catch my breath, to have my feet on the ground at times. Well, Gemini season doesn’t always give us that chance, ha. We have to roll with it. But hey, at least our curious sides get to come out and play.
Some of my best friends are Geminis and my sister too. They truly are a multi-talented bunch, with their fingers in every possible pie. Curious and dynamic and flirting with life whilst doing ALL the things.
So perhaps this is what we need after the heaviness of an Eclipse season. A little airy energy, like a fairy flitting in to take us on an adventure. It might not be all smooth sailing though, sorry, eek…in fact, here are some insights for the week ahead:
Monday 22nd May:
The Moon is in Cancer, which feels all snuggly and cosy, so definitely cook something yummy for dinner tonight. As for the Sun, she’s smooching with Mars today, which is a pretty lovely transit for getting stuff done. I actually started my day with a meditation, journaling and a yummy breaky, then started ticking admin off my list. I mean, I even had the motivation to come back to Moon Cocoon, so let’s just say this Sun sextile Mars transit is a goodie. Embrace whatever energy you have today, it might be short-lived.
Tuesday 23rd May:
If you did ALL the things yesterday in classic first full day of Gemini season, then you might be feeling a bit tired today. It’s OK to run full-steam ahead, but don’t burn out too quick. Tuesdays are ruled by Mars, so we often have that drive and desire to go, go, go. Mars is square Jupiter today, so there’s a bit of friction in the air, but also we’ll want to take risks and dive in head-first. Just make sure it feels good for you :)
Wednesday 24th May:
The Moon moves into Leo later today, so you might feel like a bit of a social evening. Think a comedy night or some jazz in an underground cafe type vibe. During the day, just get into the flow of whatever you’re doing. The Moon is void of course (that’s when it’s changing signs) from 10am to 3.30pm BST so you might want to avoid anything too busy during those hours.
Thursday 25th May:
A Leo Moon Thursday, but with Venus and Chiron having a little square-off today, sensitivities will be high. Be gentle on yourself and look out for any frustrations bubbling up in your close relationships. Talk it out if you can, don’t hold it in and definitely don’t let it build up…even if it’s just a journalling session with yourself to vent a little.
Friday 26th May:
The Moon is void of course ALL day, which is quite rare. So definitely take it easy today if you can. Creative flowy stuff will feel good, but I’d avoid important meetings/deadlines if you can. One lovely thing today though is that Venus is sextile Uranus, so do something totally different tonight. A new restaurant, a late-night beach swim, a skinny-dip under the moonlight.
Saturday 27th May:
It’s our 1st quarter Moon day today, and in the sign of Virgo. One week since the New Moon…how are your intentions feeling? Today’s a good health check-in day. Take those vitamins, make a fruit platter, go for that walk, get some much-needed sunshine on your skin.
Sunday 28th May:
Oh, a Sunday with the Sun squaring Saturn…cue those Sunday Blues. But hey, now you know it’s coming so you could plan something to shake it off. Mix up your usual Sunday routine and try make it fun. Get all the admin out the way first thing in the morning- fresh linen on your bed, groceries for the week bought. Then get out into nature, or whatever might help you feel better.
I’m flying to Lanzarote on Thursday with my mum for 6 days and honestly can’t wait for sunshine, books, beach walks and quality time.
Let me know how you’re feeling, and sorry again for disappearing on you all like that.
